Corvi for Windows: listen to your screen, ask, type by voice

Last updated: 2026-11-03

Corvi runs on Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. Press Right Ctrl once and what's on your screen is summarized aloud in your own language; press twice to ask about it; hold it, speak and release to type in any app. It's free to download, and the same account works on a Mac.

What Corvi does on a Windows PC

Corvi is one key for the three things people do all day at a computer: reading, asking and writing. On Windows that key is Right Ctrl by default. You can switch it to Caps Lock, Right Alt or the Copilot key in Settings, because the Fn key on most PC keyboards never reaches Windows at all.

  1. Tap once: Corvi reads the article, e-mail, PDF, chat or video on your screen and tells you the gist aloud in three to five sentences, in your language, whatever language the content is in.
  2. Tap twice, ask, tap again: ask a spoken question about what's on screen or what you just heard. If the answer isn't in the content, Corvi searches the web and names its source.
  3. Hold, speak, release: your words are typed where the cursor is, with punctuation. Press the key with Space for hands-free dictation.

A small island at the bottom of the screen, just above the taskbar, shows what Corvi is doing. It doesn't take the focus from your window and doesn't appear in Alt+Tab.

Which apps it works in

Corvi reads the screen through Windows' own accessibility layer, UI Automation, the same one screen readers use. That covers Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi, Outlook and Mail, Word, Slack, Teams, Notion, WhatsApp and PDF viewers. In a browser it takes the main text of the page and skips menus, ads and sidebars; on YouTube it uses the video's transcript.

When an app exposes no text at all, Corvi reads a screenshot of the window with Windows' built-in text recognition, on your PC. Dictation types into any field with a cursor, from a browser form to a code editor or ChatGPT.

One account on Windows and Mac

Corvi is the same product on both computers. Sign in with Google or your e-mail address and:

Your history of summaries and dictations stays on the computer where it happened. Two people who share one PC each get their own space under their own account.

Stop typing. Stop reading. Talk and listen.

Free to download, no card needed. Setup takes a minute on a Mac or a Windows PC, and one account works on both.

Download free: Mac and Windows

Installing it

Download Corvi from the download page. Double-click the installer in Downloads; it doesn't need administrator rights and is done in about a minute. Because Corvi is new, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" once: click More info, then Run anyway. After that, sign in, give Corvi the microphone, and press Right Ctrl on a long article.

Updates install by themselves: Corvi checks for a new version in the background, verifies its signature and tells you when a restart will finish it.

To uninstall, open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Corvi and choose Uninstall. To have your account deleted, write to support@trycorvi.com.

What happens to your data

The rules are the same as on the Mac. Corvi reads the screen only at the moment you press the key, and only that content. The microphone is on only while you hold the key. In most languages your speech is turned into text on your PC by a local Whisper model, which downloads in the background the first time; until it's there, the recording is transcribed by Google Gemini. For summaries, answers and text clean-up, the content goes to an AI service over an encrypted connection, and Corvi's servers don't keep it. Your sign-in is stored encrypted with Windows' own data protection, so only your Windows user can open it, and dictated text doesn't land in the clipboard history. More in privacy, in plain words.

Frequently asked questions

Is Corvi for Windows free?

Yes. Downloading Corvi and starting on the free plan costs nothing and needs no card. Bigger plans for heavy use are inside the app, at the same prices as on the Mac.

Can I use my Mac account on Windows?

Yes. Sign in with the same Google account or e-mail address. Your plan, dictionary, snippets, writing styles, memory and streak are the same on both.

Why Right Ctrl and not Fn?

On most PC keyboards the Fn key is handled inside the keyboard and Windows never sees it. Right Ctrl is rarely used on its own, so Corvi takes it by default; you can pick Caps Lock, Right Alt or the Copilot key instead.

Does it run on Windows on ARM?

There is no ARM64 build yet. Corvi is built for 64-bit Intel and AMD PCs.
