Wispr Flow alternative: Wispr Flow vs Corvi on the Mac
Last updated: 2026-10-29
Wispr Flow is a dedicated voice typing app that runs on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android. Corvi is a Mac app that does voice typing with the same hold-to-talk idea, and with the same key also summarizes your screen aloud and answers spoken questions. With Corvi, typing and listening live on one key of your Mac.

Dictation: very similar
Both apps follow the same idea: hold a key, speak, release, and clean text appears where your cursor is. Both add punctuation and remove filler words, and both let you teach names and terms and save snippets. In Corvi you hold Fn; for long stretches you press Fn with Command for hands-free dictation.
What you get with Corvi
- You also read a lot. With Corvi the same key that types also listens: tap Fn on a long e-mail, article, Slack thread or YouTube video and hear the gist in a few sentences.
- You read in a second language. Corvi can summarize an English page aloud in German, Turkish or any of its 35 languages, and you can ask follow-ups in your language.
- You want one tool instead of two. A dictation app plus a read-aloud app, or one key on your Mac.
- You want to try everything for free. During early access every Corvi feature is free.
Stop typing. Stop reading. Talk and listen.
Corvi is free during early access. Setup takes a minute; if you don't like it, drag it to the Trash.
Download free for MacPrivacy
Both apps send text to cloud AI services for clean-up. In Corvi, your speech is turned into text on your Mac by a local Whisper model in most languages; the text then goes over an encrypted connection to an AI service for punctuation and clean-up, and Corvi's servers don't keep it. Screen content for summaries is read only when you press the key. Read Wispr Flow's own privacy information for theirs; see Corvi's privacy, in plain words.
Switching from Wispr Flow to Corvi
- Download Corvi and give it the Fn key during setup.
- Re-add the names and terms from your Wispr Flow dictionary to Corvi's personal dictionary.
- Recreate your most used snippets.
- Try listening: open your longest unread e-mail and tap Fn.
You can keep both installed while you decide; just give each a different key.
Frequently asked questions
Is Corvi a Wispr Flow clone?
No. Dictation works on a similar hold-to-talk idea, but Corvi's main difference is listening: spoken summaries of your screen and spoken questions with the same key.
Does Corvi run on Windows or iPhone?
Not yet. Corvi is Mac only for now.
Which is cheaper?
Corvi is free during early access; its Pro price hasn't been announced. Wispr Flow has a free tier with a weekly word limit on desktop and a paid Pro plan.
Can I use both?
Yes, as long as they use different keys.
