Ask AI about what's on your screen, without copy and paste
Last updated: 2026-10-31
To ask an AI about whatever is on your Mac's screen, without copying anything into a chat window: with Corvi, double-tap the Fn key, ask your question out loud, and tap Fn again. Corvi reads what's on screen at that moment and answers aloud in your language. If the content doesn't contain the answer, it searches the web and names its source.
The problem: AI lives in a different window
Most AI assistants work in their own window. To ask about an article, an e-mail or a contract, you select the text, copy it, switch to the chat, paste it, type the question, and wait. For one question that is fine. For the twenty small questions of a working day ("what does this clause mean?", "is this reply asking me for something?", "which of these three options is cheapest?") the copying costs more time than the answers save.
There is a second problem: you have to decide what to copy. A page has menus, sidebars and ads. A video has no text to copy at all. A chat thread spans several screens.
Ways to do it on a Mac
| Approach | What you do | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Copy into a chatbot | Select, copy, switch apps, paste, type the question | Long, careful work on one document |
| A browser's built-in assistant | Open the side panel in that browser | Web pages in that one browser |
| Screenshot into a chatbot | Take a screenshot, drag it into the chat | Images and layouts |
| Corvi | Double-tap Fn, ask aloud, tap Fn | Quick questions in any app: browser, Mail, Slack, PDF, YouTube |
Corvi doesn't replace a chatbot for long sessions. It removes the copy-paste step for everyday questions, in every app.
How it works with Corvi
- Open whatever you want to ask about: a web page, an e-mail, a Slack thread, a PDF, a YouTube video.
- Double-tap Fn. Corvi listens.
- Ask: "What is this person actually asking me for?", "Summarize the cancellation terms", "What's the difference between the two plans on this page?"
- Tap Fn again. You hear the answer in a few sentences.
Corvi decides what to read in a fixed order: selected text first; on YouTube, the video's transcript; then the message or paragraph under your pointer; then the main content of the window, without menus, ads and sidebars; and if nothing else is available, the text in a screenshot of the window.
If you just listened to a summary, your next question is about that content, and each answer goes a step deeper. If the answer isn't in the content, for example "Is this company still in business?", Corvi searches the web and tells you where the answer came from.
Examples by situation
- Contracts and terms: "Is there an automatic renewal in this?"
- Shopping and pricing pages: "Which plan includes team accounts?"
- E-mail: "Did anyone already answer the budget question?"
- Code review: "What does this pull request change in the API?"
- Foreign-language pages: ask in your language about an English, German or Japanese page; the answer comes in your language.

Corvi reads the screen only when you press the key, and only the content at that moment; it doesn't watch in the background. The content goes over an encrypted connection to the AI service that answers, and Corvi's servers don't keep it. More in privacy, in plain words.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work outside the browser?
Yes. It works in Mail, Slack, Notion, Word, Preview, Messages and other Mac apps, as well as in Safari, Chrome, Arc, Firefox and Edge.
Can I type my question instead of speaking?
Corvi is built for voice: you ask out loud and hear the answer. For long written conversations a chatbot window is the better tool.
Which languages can I ask in?
Any of the 35 languages Corvi supports. The answer comes in your language even if the page is in another one.
Is it free?
Corvi is free to download and use on the free plan, with no card needed.
